![]() ![]() Later, his story Bir Dağ Masalı was adapted into a namesake film in 1947 while the 1995 film Düş, Gerçek ve Sinema included one of his stories, “Bahçeli Lokanta.” Dudaktan Kalbe (1951 - 1965), Çalıkuşu (1966), Yaprak Dökümü (1958 - 1967), Değirmen (1986), and Bir Kadın Düşmanı (1991) were among those films which were adapted from his novels. The play he scripted, Taş Parçası, was brought to the silver screen in 1939 by Faruk Kenç. He was elected the Republican People's Party Member of Parliament for Çanakkale in 1939. He traveled Anatolia from end to end when he was assigned education inspector in 1931. ![]() He gained recognition through his 1922 novel Çalıkuşu. Güntekin, who taught French and Turkish in various schools up until 1927, began writing in the closing days of World War I. He received higher education in the Department of Literature in İstanbul University. He went to the Frerler School in İzmir and Saint Joseph French High School in İstanbul. Reşat Nuri, who travelled to many different cities due to his father’s profession, began his education in Çanakkale. His father was the military doctor Nuri Bey. Reşat Nuri Güntekin was born in the city of İstanbul on November 25, 1889.
